A well-known Japanese dessert shop has announced its permanent closure in the Philippines after seven years of operation.

BAKE Cheese Tart shared the sad news in an Instagram post on Tuesday. The store is known for its freshly baked cheese tarts made using fluffy cream cheese mousse and a double baked crust.

"Thank you, Manila. Thank you for seven years of cheesy memories," it said, not stating the reason behind the closure.

BAKE Cheese Tart opened its first Philippine branch at The Podium mall in Ortigas in 2017, followed by a store at Power Plant mall in Makati in 2018.

While it is no longer available in the country, its cheese tarts can still be purchased in Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, and the United States.
