MANILA – Four days after last Sunday’s live show of “The Voice of the Philippines,” the contestants who performed at the Resorts World Manila are still doing well on the Philippine charts of Apple’s iTunes store.
Four of the eight finalists, in fact, are still in the Top 10, led by eliminated contestant Darryl Shy, whose passionate rendition of Asin’s “Balita” is currently at No. 2, behind international pop star Katy Perry’s global hit “Roar.”
“Balita” actually hit the No. 1 spot on the Philippine iTunes charts, as did Team Bamboo’s Paolo Onesa, whose version of Adele’s James Bond theme “Skyfall,” has since fallen to No. 3, as of writing.
Morissette Amon’s winning performance of “What About Love” is currently at No. 5, while her eliminate teammate Maki Ricafort’s version of The Police’s “Every Breath You Take” is at No. 10.
Also moving on in the competition is Mitoy Yonting, whose effortless rendition of Dulce’s “Paano” is currently at No. 12, followed closely by Thor Dulay’s soulful version of Stevie Wonder’s “Lately” at No. 14.
Dulay’s teammate Penelope Mantanguihan, meanwhile, is at No. 23 with her performance of The Carpenters’ “Superstar,” while professional singer Lee Grane’s take on REM’s “Losing My Religion” is at No. 34.
