MANILA – You only have a few days left to check out culinary power couple Rob and Sunshine Pengson’s The Goose Station, which will close right after Valentine’s Day.

A play on the word “degustation,” The Goose Station is one of the first restaurants in Metro Manila to offer tasting menus. It is located at the W Tower in Taguig City.

In an Instagram post, Pengson recalled that he and Sunshine were inspired to put up the restaurant after their honeymoon seven years ago.

“It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing the closing of The Goose Station on February 15, 2016. Seven years ago, we took our honeymoon in San Sebastian and were completely inspired to open our restaurant that focused on small tasting menu plates without the stiffness of fine dining. We set out to show our tastes and ideas, motivated by our passion for cooking, inspired by our experiences and driven by our desire to be creative in the kitchen.

“We feel fortunate to have served all our customers, bring our food abroad and to present them to the world during the first ever Madrid Fusion in Manila. These experiences we will always cherish,” he added. “We would like to thank everyone for their support and for joining us along the way. We look forward to cooking for you again!”

The Pengson couple’s Shine Bakery and Café at SM Aura Premier mall in Taguig closed last May 31 after nearly two years in operation.

Shine Bakery and Café was known for serving gourmet interpretations of desserts and comfort food favorites.
