Hundreds of people flocked to the Kartilya ng Katipunan monument in Manila to witness the lighting of the city’s giant Christmas tree on Wednesday.

Led by Mayor Isko Moreno and Vice-Mayor Honey Lacuna, the event coincided with other city-sponsored "pailaw" events at Rizal Park, Intramuros, Paco Park, Escolta, Tutuban Center, the Philippine Post Office, the National Museum, and the Rizal Park Hotel.

The Adamson University Choir and the Manila City Marching Band entertained visitors during the program.
