Ramon Bautista wears many hats—university lecturer, TV host, author, and Internet comedic sensation—and he is undeniably a funny man in all of them.

In his interview on ANC's "Headstart" with Karen Davila, Bautista was asked if the psychologists' claim that women look for a good sense of humor in their potential partners was true for him.

"Siguro yung sinasabi na funny dun, 'yung pogi. Ako kasi, feeling pogi lang ako... Yung mga tulad ko, lagi naman akong nafe-friendzone, minsan nga, tito-zoned kasi sa edad na 'to," he answered jokingly.

"Dapat may abs, ganyan—magaling mag-basketball, magaling mag-gitara, tapos may pagka-jerk yung attitude, ganyan," he added.

Bautista believes women go for the "jerk" because these guys carry the "Alpha Male factor."

"Sa animal kingdom, 'di ba ganun? Yung mga girls, hardwired sila na kumapit dun sa mga lalaking kaya silang ipagtanggol," he said.

He also countered the argument that women pick these guys simply because they hurt them.

"Baka naman hindi lahat, kasi may mga babae na lumalaban. Saka baka merong tanga o kaya minsan, nakakalimutan na nila yung sarili nila in the name of love," he said.

Pressed if he would have proof of his theory about women and abs, Bautista said in jest that this would actually be more noticeable in Boracay.

NEW BOOK

With already three best-selling books under his belt, Bautista recently launched his book "Malapit na, Unggoy," a collection of fables for millennials.

Bautista said unlike other recent bestsellers and his other books, this one is not particularly a self-help book. "Para siyang philosophical book. Para rin siyang self-help kung titingnan mo siya beyond dun sa coloring book format niya," he added.

Though no psychologist, Bautista said he draws from personal experience and popular literature -- particularly movies that starred the 90s loveteam of Marvin Agustin and Jolina Magdangal -- to write his book.

Bautista also revealed he is no longer a hopeless romantic, having had his heart broken before. But he chose to turn this lonesome incident to a profitable venture.

"Iniisip ko rin paano ko magagawang silbi itong pagiging heartbroken kong ito, pagka-heartbroken kong ito? So ito, pinagkakitaan ko na lang—gumawa ako ng libro saka gumawa ako ng Internet series," he said.

Grab a copy of the book in National Book Store branches nationwide, and enjoy stories like "Ang matayog na pangarap ni Orestes," "Ang alamat ng baboy na puti," and "Ang alamat ng lamok na pasikat."
