MANILA (UPDATED) —The ASEAN Music Festival held at Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati city was cancelled Tuesday after concertgoers got "rowdy."

Some people in the crowd reportedly pushed each other during the set of Parokya ni Edgar, resulting in the fainting of some people.

Organizers urged the crowd to settle down and stop pushing barriers and other people in order for the concert to continue.

The organizers later decided to cancel the concert at about 9 p.m. for safety reasons, even though the crowd had settled, barricades had been strengthened, and media and VIP seats removed for safety.

"For reasons of public safety, the organizers have decided to stop the show. As of now people are already slowly leaving the venue to go home. The organizers are very sorry for the inconvenience," Southern Police District Chief Superintendent Tomas Apolinario said, reading a statement from organizers.
