Millions of Filipinos packed gymnasiums and barangay halls on Sunday to watch boxing hero Manny Pacquiao defeat Jessie Vargas and win the WBO welterweight championship.

In Dagupan City, tricycle and jeepney drivers huddled beside a large screen to watch the fight unfold. One mall in Dagupan erupted in cheers after the "Pacman" floored Vargas during the second round of the bout.

It was the same scene in free public viewings in Davao, Cebu, General Santos City, Santiago City and other areas , with many Pacquiao fans cheering the fighting senator for every punch landed against Vargas.

Wounded soldiers admitted in Camp Evangelista Station Hospital of the 4th Infantry Division also watched the Pacquiao-Vargas fight.
