MANILA – Actress Karel Marquez is set to return on stage next month to reprise her role as Anastasia Steele in “50 Shades! The Musical Parody.”

Following its successful staging in February, the musical parody will have a limited run from December 15 to 17 at the Music Museum.

“50 Shades! The Musical Parody” is inspired by E. L. James’s popular novel, “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

Al Samuels, the director and one of the writers of the parody, had so much fun working with Marquez and has only good words to say about her performance as Ana.

“It was a joy to work with Karel earlier in the year for the role of Ana. Karel bought a real honesty, vulnerability and yet a deep strength to her portrayal of Ana. She already brought so many talents to the show, and it was wonderful to watch her grow even more as an actress through the process,” he said.

Samuels added Marquez also “brought a hilarious sense of comedic timing that delighted audiences for the whole run. I am so excited to see her reprise her performance.”

Just like Samuels, Marquez is also excited to go back on stage as Ana.

In an Instagram post, Marquez wrote: “Here goes one crazy sexy holiday! See you at the theater!”

Having done the musical earlier this year, Marquez said she always wants to improve herself in terms of talent, adding that she hopes she gets to enhance what she has shown as Ana, making it more fun and exciting this time.

The musical is presented by Vivre Fort Entertainment and 9 Works Theatrical.
