MANILA (UPDATED)—Filipinos will need to wait at least another year to celebrate a fifth Miss Earth crown, after the country's representative, Janelle Tee, failed to make the top 10 of the pageant this Saturday.

Tee, a TV host, was included in the top 20, along with local favorite, Ghana's Evelyn Appiah, but both of them were not called when the candidates advancing to the next round were announced.

Tee was looking to win the Philippines' fifth title in the pageant, following the likes of Karen Ibasco (2017), Angela Ong (2015), and Jamie Herrell (2014), and Karla Henry (2008).

The Miss Earth 2019 pageant, which was staged at Okada Manila, was won by Puerto Rico's Nellys Pimentel.

Miss Earth Fire: Belarus' Alisa Manenok
Miss Earth Water: Czech Republic's Klara Vavruskova
Miss Earth Air: USA's Emanii Davis
