Toyota, Honda, Mazda and BMW were among the big-name companies that rolled out their slick wheels at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, a festive atmosphere of sights and sounds that tried to drown out a rather bleak year for an industry reeling from the passing of the TRAIN law and rising fuel prices.

Electric vehicles and hybrid options were on tap, and the concept of connecting vehicles was brought up, too, in the auto event with the theme "Future Mobility." These cars were either in the concept stage, in the market already, or in the pipeline ready to be sold.
