(UPDATED) The Philippines' wait for a first Miss Grand International victory continues, after Eva Patalinjug failed to advance to the pageant's top 20.
The Filipina beauty queen, who remained hopeful about her title chances despite her slip in the preliminaries, bowed out early in the competition, fans found out Thursday night.
The contest, held in Myanmar, was ultimately won by Paraguay's Clara Sosa, succeeding Peru's Maria Jose Lora.
India's Meenakshi Chaudhary finished first runner-up, while Nadia Purwoko of Indonesia was named 2nd runner-up.

Representatives from Puerto Rico and Japan rounded up the Top 5.
The coronation night was hosted by Xian Lim.
The Philippines has never won a Miss Grand International title.
Last year, Elizabeth Clenci finished second runner-up.
