MANILA -- Here are some of the latest promos and shopping deals you wouldn't want to miss on payday weekend.

1. Michael Kors helps fight global hunger

World Food Day is on October 16 and Michael Kors is dedicating the month to new products and activities designed to fight global hunger. Now in its fifth year, the brand’s Watch Hunger Stop campaign raises funds and awareness to help achieve zero hunger. Funds go to support the United Nations World Food Programme’s (WFP) school meals program.

Actress Kate Hudson (in photo) is again supporting Watch Hunger Stop. This past June, she traveled with WFP to Siem Reap in Cambodia to see how the funds raised help feed and support children in need.

Every year, Kors designs a new Watch Hunger Stop t-shirt. This year’s t-shirt, designed by Clym Everden, will be available at select Michael Kors stores around the world beginning October 14. Post a selfie in your t-shirt tagged with #WatchHungerStop and Michael Kors will donate 50 meals to WFP.

2. SM Megamall raffle

Shop and dine at SM Megamall, and earn a chance to win P30,000 worth of prizes from select SM Megamall fashion, food and leisure brands. Use your Citi credit card or avail of 0% Citi PayLite for a minimum single-receipt purchase of P3,000 and double your chances of winning.

3. MUJI comes up with water-repellent sneakers

MUJI has created its own line of comfortable sneakers that promises not to strain your feet.

5. Lazada online sellers expected to triple profits for Christmas

A conference for Lazada sellers was recently held to officially launch its biggest shopping event of the year – Online Revolution.

With the theme “Shop the Universe,” this year's Online Revolution, which runs from November 9 to December 12, expects to double the visits from last year’s record, with an expected 150 million visits. Sales uplift for sellers are expected to triple last year’s performance, Lazada said.

“Sellers can make the most out of this time by utilizing new tools to grow their business,” it said. “Entrepreneurs can join an online sign-up caravan where new sellers will get free marketing mileage during Online Revolution as well as other seller perks.”

7. Robinsons Pampanga to host Giant Lantern Festival

Robinsons Starmills Pampanga will be transformed into a colorful display of giant Christmas parols as it once again hosts the Giant Lantern Festival which will kick off on December 16.

This was formalized by the signing of the memorandum of agreement between Robinsons Malls and CSFP Giant Lantern Festival Foundation Inc.

The giant parols made by Kapampangan artisans are renowned for their large size, brilliant colors, and flashing kaleidoscopic patterns.

The Giant Lantern Festival 2017 will be participated by 10 barangays who will be competing against each other as they exhibit their best Christmas parols at the Pampanga mall. Shoppers and spectators will be delighted to view the Giant Lantern Display on December 17 to 21, December 25 to 30, and January 1 and 2.

Prior to the big day, everyone can join in the celebration of the Sinukwan Festival happening on November 25 to December 2.

8. Lenovo releases 25th anniversary edition of ThinkPad

Lenovo has announced a limited-edition ThinkPad to celebrate 25 years of design and engineering innovation. 9. BGC launches short film competition

Take your passion for film to the next level for a chance to win Sony action cameras and DSLRs worth over P50,000.

Bonifacio Global City is calling for entries to its short film competition “BGCitizen Stories” created in partnership with director Quark Henares.

Using your smartphone or DSLR, simply create an original film shot in notable, scenic spots around BGC. The video should run for a maximum of one minute. Upload your entry on Facebook or Instagram, set it to Public, and tag @BonifacioGlobalCityPH along with the hashtags #BGCitizenStories and #ExploreBGC.

The deadline of submission is on October 15. Complete mechanics are over at BGC’s Facebook page.

The most compelling and captivating stories will be shortlisted and then announced in BGC’s social media pages. The winning films will be screened and awarded on October 20.

10. Kiehl’s supports Autism Society Philippines

Kiehl’s Philippines has teamed up with Gerald Anderson and Candy Pangilinan to establish a scholarship fund for therapies needed by children with autism in support of the Autism Society Philippines.

The Gerald Anderson Foundation founded the Angel Dog Program that trains therapy dogs for children with autism. Pangilinan, meanwhile, has a child with autism and is an active advocate of early diagnosis and intervention of autism. She has released a book “Mommy Dear: Our Special Love” which is a journal compilation on her experience with her son Quentin starting from her pregnancy up until today.

The two celebrities will be featured in online videos to be released at the Kiehl’s Philippines Facebook page where they share their support for autism.

Globally, Kiehl’s is partnering with Matthew McConaughey in support of the Autism Speaks Foundation, which is dedicated to promoting solutions for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. For this campaign, the Hollywood actor designed the packaging of the Limited Edition Kiehl's x Autism Speaks Ultra Facial Cream.

11. HP launches promo for Sprocket printer

Pocket-sized printer, HP Sprocket allows users to instantly print pictures directly from your smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth. You can also edit your favorite images with frames and filters with the HP Sprocket app which can be downloaded from Apple Store or Google Play.
