MANILA - Since retiring as ABS-CBN’s president and chief executive officer at the end of last year, Charo Santos is "loving herself more" as she tries new things for the first time.

In an interview on "Magandang Buhay" on Tuesday, Santos, now the network's chief content officer, said she is now learning how to swim.

"I have now more time for myself," Santos said. "So I do yoga twice a week. Tapos last year I had my cooking lessons."

In the interview, Santos also said she never thought that she would become the president of ABS-CBN. "Alam mo ako kapag may ginawa ako, I just give it my best," she said.

Santos also returned to acting with Lav Diaz's "Ang Babaeng Humayo," which won the Golden Lion top prize at the 2016 Venice Film Festival and will open in theaters nationwide on September 28.
"A solid narrative. It's a different experience. Isang sine, isang obra ni Lav Diaz and of course John Lloyd Cruz sa kanyang pinakakaibang pagganap sa pelikulang ito," Santos said of the movie.
