The daughter of Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez bested 39 other candidates for the title, allowing her to represent the country in the Miss World pageant in London this December.

“I’ve just reached a major milestone in my life, and all I can really say is thank you. Thank you to everyone who’s believed in me since the beginning,” Dee said in an Instagram post on Monday night, specifically mentioning her family, friends, and mentors.
