MANILA -- Travel deals and celebrities were two of the draws at the recently concluded Klook Travel Fest held last September 7-8 at the World Trade Center in Pasay city.

A packed program included performances by K-pop groups Monsta X and Weki Meki, interview sessions with top YouTube vloggers like Mike Chen (Simply Dumpling), and Lauren Bullen and Jack Morris (Do You Travel), as well with local globetrotting celebrities like Team Kramer and Liza Soberano.

ABS-CBN News caught up with Soberano before she went onstage. In our interview, the "Alone/Together" star talked about her love for traveling, her future travel plans, and more.

Q: Why do you love traveling?

A: I love traveling because it allows me to see how the world really is, and it makes me realize that we are really small. It humbles me and makes me realize that there are more out there in the world that we have yet to discover. And it [also] allows me time with my family to create memories that, you know, will last a lifetime.

Q: What’s your most recent favorite destination?

A: My favorite place in the world would have to be Hawaii or Japan. Hawaii because I’ve always imagined myself living in paradise, and that’s what it felt like, and it’s also like the Philippines at the same time, because there’s a lot of Filipinos there. And then I also like Japan, because it’s completely different from Hawaii. It’s more urban, the technology is great, and the people are great!

Q: What do you most look forward to when you visit a new place?

A: I like seeing tourist destinations. I enjoy looking at different architecture too, because each country tells their own story through their buildings. And, of course, awesome food!

Q: Any destination that you’re most looking forward to visiting soon?

A: I really, really want to go to South America, and probably Africa sometime soon, because it’s something that I’ve always wanted to do. I’ve always loved Mexican food, so I want to go to Mexico. I also want to go to more Latin countries.

Q: What’s your number one travel tip?

A: I like to travel in big groups with my family and with my boyfriend’s family, so you always have to consider what everybody else likes to do. So in preparation, you have to ask them what they like doing, and if they’re going to do something that you want to do. And you guys kind of have to meet halfway and talk it all out, and really plan the itinerary, because it’s really hard to go to a different country if you’re not prepared.
