1. Johann Coffee to open first concept store

Johann Coffee and Beverages is set to open its first concept store in October in Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City.

Officially launched at the recent Franchise Asia 2016, Johann Coffee is touted as one of the franchises with the most affordable fees. Budding entrepreneurs can start small with a kiosk or a food truck coffee shop, or go big with a full-fledged store.

Using locally grown coffee beans, their blends include exciting flavors like butter rum, and chocolate macadamia besides the usual blends.

2. Kumori offers new breakfast breads

Kumori Japanese Bakery launches three new bread variants perfect for breakfast. The Coffee Pan has a coffee sugar crust, and the signature Kumori #BiteIntoClouds interior, ideal to drink with a cup of java in the morning.

The Takumi Bun, meanwhile, has carbs and protein, a soft bun topped with ham and a sunny-side up egg. Then, get your healthy grain fix with the Wholemeal Muesli, a soft bread enriched with wholemeal grains and topped with oats and cranberries.

Kumori Japanese Bakery branches can be found at SM Manila, Landmark Makati, and SM North Edsa.

3. Get your gourmet popcorn fix

5. Banh Mi Kitchen opens in BGC

The bros behind Bahn Mi Kitchen have opened a new branch at the ground floor of the Bonifacio Stopover Pavilion. Banh mi lovers in Taguig can now take the "crunch test" with the restaurant's signature banh mi from The Classic to unique variants like the Kani Bonito and Beef Rendang, and the filling Protein Monster, which is a complete meal in itself.
