MANILA – Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago warned her social media followers about the dangers of pre-workout drinks as she opened up about her illness.

The beauty queen and actress admitted via Instagram Stories over the weekend that she is suffering from chronic kidney disease, a condition she said was a result of her “gym life.”

“Yes, I’m sick. I damaged my kidneys when I was younger. My kidneys are more sensitive than a normal late 20s healthy woman. I can’t overdo things, and I just found out. Came to the hospital for my severe migraines and we found out something potentially more dangerous. I’m thankful but at the same time really scared,” she said.

Santiago went on to encourage the public to consult a doctor before trying a new diet or taking a new pre-workout drink.
