MANILA – For this year’s State of the Nation Address (SONA), politicians and their respective guests were asked to wear Mindanao-inspired outfits.

And the female attendees had different interpretations of the dress code, as seen in the many colorful looks on the SONA red carpet.

Senator Loren Legarda, for instance, wore Maranao outfits as her way of expressing her support for the rehabilitation of war-torn Marawi.

Others, meanwhile, used fashion to make a stand on issues such as contractualization and Martial Law.
