The 1.2-ton vegetable salad will be the highlight of the first foundation day of the League of Associations of La Trinidad Trading Area Inc. on Thursday.

In line with the association’s anniversary, the giant salad made with local vegetable products can make from 2,000 to 3,000 servings, which will be served to those attending the celebration.

The salad will have 180 kilos of tomatoes, 160 kilos of lettuce, 160 kilos of carrots, 160 kilos of cucumber, 150 kilos of sugar beets, and 100 kilos of lime.

The salad will also use 92 liters of three kinds of salad dressings. Broccoli, cauliflower and potato marbles will also be used as a side dish.

The giant vegetable salad will be placed in a large bowl measuring 20 feet by 32 feet.

The association forged a partnership with a La Trinidad-based culinary school for preparation of the giant vegetable salad. The school tapped 60 student chefs and three executive chefs for the two-day preparation of the salad.
