MANILA – Model-host Joey Mead has finally broken her silence after her husband, Ian King, came out as a transwoman.

King now goes by the name Angelina following her admission via social media exactly one week ago.

“I’m sticking it out with my wife,” she told celebrity host and events organizer Tim Yap, whose article was published on the Philippine Star on Saturday.

Mead also said she has decided not to grant any media interviews following King’s revelation because “I want to focus on us.”

Despite King’s decision to come out, Mead said both of them have agreed to be faithful and loyal to each other.

“I was okay with Ian as whatever he wants to be, I don’t look at her differently, I love everything,” she said.

Looking back at what they have been through, Mead said: “It really just breaks away because at the end of the day, you go, and then what? What’s life without a little bit of bizarreness? That’s not fun, who wants to live like a normal ABC life?”

Expressing her full support behind her partner’s decision, Mead feels King came out at a perfect time.

“What is normal these days? This is the new normal and everyone is taking it very well so it’s a perfect time for Ian to come out,” she said.
