MANILA -- Socialite and fashion icon Tessa Prieto-Valdes and her husband Dennis Valdes renewed their vows on Monday to mark their 25th anniversary of being a married couple.

The African themed ceremony was held at the Santuario de San Antonio Parish in Makati City and was attended by the couple’s closest friends.

Throughout the unique ceremony, all eyes were on the couple especially Prieto-Valdes who was wearing an African-inspired outfit created by Rajo Laurel.

In a Philippine Daily Inquirer article, the couple shared how they made their marriage last for 25 years.

“It takes two people in every relationship,” said Prieto-Valdes.

“It might seem that he’s the one making sure the relationship lasts, but I do my share, too. It’s really a constant balance. You’ve got to keep working at it,” she added.

Valdes, for his part, said: “We give each other the space to do what we need to be doing, then we go back to the home where we’re both very grounded.”
