MANILA – It’s been a week since the Binibining Pilipinas pageant, and Gazini Ganados still can’t believe that she won the coveted Miss Universe Philippines crown.
On Monday, Ganados took to Instagram to look back on the week that has passed, saying it is only now that her victory is starting to sink in.
“Maayong buntag! Earlier today, I woke up with nothing but a grateful heart. Media week has been very fun and busy, and it is only this morning that it finally sunk in that my dream came true exactly a week ago,” she said.
Ganados went on to declare that her dream to be crowned Miss Universe Philippines “happened for a reason to achieve a greater purpose.”
“I am surrendering everything to the Universe,” she said.
Ganados is aiming for a back-to-back win for the Philippines in Miss Universe, following in the footsteps of her predecessor, Catriona Gray.
Aside from Gray, the country’s other Miss Universe titleholders include Pia Wurtzbach (2015), Margie Moran (1973), and Gloria Diaz (1969).
