MANILA – The City of Makati is holding a ten-day arts, music, and heritage festival in celebration of its 348th anniversary.

The event, called Makati Makisalo, is co-presented by Fringe Manila and will run from June 1 to 10.

The festival is open to the public for free.

Makati Makisalo kicks off with a series of installations in collaboration with the creative hub Pineapple Lab. Artists were commissioned to paint murals, decorate jeepneys, and create other street art to add vibrancy to Makati's urban landscape.

The festival is also set to host "Movie Under the Stars," an outdoor film screening at Circuit Concert Grounds featuring critically acclaimed films like "Patay na si Hesus" and "Respeto."

There will also be "Throwback Thursday," a retro dance party for senior citizens at the Bel Air Covered Court; a night market featuring local street food stalls; interactive art at Plaza Cristo Rey; and a street party along Makati Avenue with performances from Autotelic, Leanne and Naara, Al James, Ebe Dancel, The Ransom Collective, Gracenote, Moonstar88, Franco, and more.

Visitors can also expect returning Fringe events such as the monthly "Pineapple Jam" in Poblacion Park and Daloy Dance Company's popular community dance workshop, "Sayaw Galaw" in Museo ng Makati.
