MANILA -- (UPDATED) The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and Tanghalang Pilipino (TP) will stream six theater productions on ABS-CBN's iWant from June 12 to July 12, the group clarified on Wednesday.
TP initially announced on Monday that it will stream from May 30 to June 30.
The program has now been dubbed "Pantawid ng Tanghalan."
Among the theater shows to be streamed on iWant is "Lam-Ang," which reimagines the folk epic "Biag ni Lam-ang." The 2019 ethno-epic musical is top-billed by JC Santos and directed by Fitz Bitana and Marco Viaña.
Also part of the lineup is the fourth run of "Mabining Mandirigma" staged last September 2019. The steampunk musical, which depicts the heroism of Apolinario Mabini, also features international star Monique Wilson.
TP, CCP, and iWant will also be streaming three local productions of Shakespeare plays.
These include "Coriolano," which tells the story of a legendary Roman soldier who turned into a befallen tyrant; "Pangarap sa Isang Gabi ng Gitnang Tag-Araw," an adaptation of "A Midsummer Night's Dream"; and "Der Kaufmann," which is adapted from "The Merchant of Venice."
Completing the roster is "Sandosenang Sapatos," a children's story written by Dr. Luis Gatmaitan and adapted for the stage by Layeta Bucoy.
