DAVAO CITY - London-based Academy of Chocolate (AoC) has bestowed Malagos Chocolate three bronze awards and two commendations in the 'filled chocolate' category in its 2019 AoC awards.

Malagos Agri-Ventures Corp., makers of the Malagos chocolate in this city, got bronze awards for its 72 percent dark ganache in the individual truffle category, rhum praline in the alcohol-flavored ganache category, and almonds in couverture dark chocolate in the panned/enrobed fruits and nuts category.

Malagos Chocolate also received commendations for its dried gubayano (soursop) in couverture dark chocolate and roasted cocoa nibs in couverture dark chocolate.

According to Rex Puentespina, Malagos farmer and chocolate maker, more than 46 countries were represented this year, showcasing the diverse range and creativity of producers offering a multitude of flavor profiles.

To date, Malagos Chocolate has already earned 32 international wins, one gold national award, and three commendations in fine chocolate competitions.
