MANILA - The University of the Philippines (UP) landed in the 95th spot in the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings 2019.
The country’s top state university climbed 61 spots, from No. 156 last year.
Aside from UP, De La Salle University also made it to the list, ranking in the 251 to 300 range.
Topping this year’s list is Tsinghua University in China.

The THE Asia University Ranking lists the top 400 universities in Asia from 27 countries or regions. It bases its rankings on 13 performance indicators grouped into the following areas: teaching, research, citations, industry income and international outlook.
However, the THE said these indicators are “recalibrated to reflect the attributes of Asia’s institutions.”
