A 69-year-old man who went viral in a photo showing him playing the popular game Dota 2 (Defense of the Ancients) at his age has passed away this week, a post from the computer shop he frequented shared.

Toni Matulac, who was more known for his online username Cris Montinola, appeared in a Facebook photo captioned "Lolo Cris from Iloilo City plays Dota 2 everyday!" which has been liked more than 50,000 times since being posted back in 2015.

In the photo, Matulac was seen competing with much-younger players online in Dota 2, a fantasy game where two teams of five players go against each other using various unique heroes.

His death was announced by Acclaim Computer Center, the computer shop where Matulac plays regularly.

This was later on confirmed in the comments by his daughter, who thanked the local gaming community for loving her father.

Matulac was said to have died last Monday after suffering a stroke.

A wake will be held staring Saturday at the Cosmopilitan Somo Memorial Homes in Iloilo City.

In an interview on "Rated K" back in 2015, Matulac said that he only started playing Dota 2 after a heart attack limited his movement. He also shared that the game made him feel happy and young.
