MANILA – Travelers who frequent Cebu or are first-timers to the island now have a new reason to visit the destination.

This after the Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu, a luxury resort that is located on the northwestern tip of Mactan island in Barangay Punta Engaño, has officially opened its doors to tourists.

The five-star property is owned by Robinsons Land Corp. and managed by Thailand’s Dusit Hotels & Resorts.

Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu Resort is a short drive from the recently opened Mactan-Cebu International Airport.

But the resort hotel is putting the finishing touches on its exclusive water transfer service, according David Baldwin, the resort’s general manager.

“We are building our dock so that we may offer water transfers for arriving and departing guests. The marina is just a short ride from the airport, where guests will board a catamaran for a lovely ride to Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu,” he said.

The resort hotel has an open-air lobby, an exclusive beach, 300 rooms, six event venues including the 1,235-square meter Dusit Ballroom, a Sky Garden with views of the sea, a fitness center, a spa, an indoor kids’ zone, and a dive center.

It also boasts of its 100-meter long infinity pool that has become a favorite spot among its first guests.

“While the scale and design of the see-through lobby gives a great first impression, our striking 100-meter infinity pool is already a guest favorite. This goes hand-in hand with the beautiful sunset views, as we are the only western-facing resort in Mactan. This creates so many beautiful photo opportunities," Baldwin said.

Its restaurants include the Sea Breeze Café which features an international buffet, Dusit’s signature contemporary Thai restaurant Benjarong, the poolside Sunset Bar, the open-air Lobby Lounge, and the upscale Dusit Club Lounge.
