MANILA — The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has led to schools being shut, leaving many Filipino parents seeking out online resources, apps, and games to try and hopefully keep their children’s minds engaged while cooped up inside their homes.

Well, ABS-CBN has decided this Friday to help out these parents by finally announcing that due to the insistent demand of fans, it will be rerunning ‘90s educational favorites such as “Sine'skwela,” “Bayani,” and “Hiraya Manawari.”

The award-winning kid-friendly programs will begin airing on ABS-CBN channel 2 (they were previously only available on Knowledge Channel and online via TFC) starting this Saturday, March 28, back-to-back-to-back, from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

If one needs a nutshell refresher on what these shows are about, “Sine’skwela” attempts to simplify scientific concepts via the colorful adventures of a cast of lovable and ever-curious characters, while “Bayani” uses time travel as a way to introduce Philippine history and our country’s heroes.

“Hiraya Manawari” is a fairy tale series focusing on teaching life lessons.

The cancellation of school in Luzon has been a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, which has, as of Friday, more than 800 confirmed cases in the country.
