There are no magic spells or potions involved – just two actors and a delightfully funny show that condenses all seven “Harry Potter” books into 70 minutes. James Percy and Joseph Maudsley breeze through the story, leaving enough material for both fans and newcomers aged six to Dumbledore (read: very old).

What makes “Potted Potter” feel new each time is the actors’ ability to direct the narrative to relevant topics and inject pop culture elements. From Justin Bieber and the “Twilight” books in 2014, Wednesday night’s (March 20) show mentioned “Game of Thrones,” “Fifty Shades of Grey,” and even US President Donald Trump, to name a few.

Just like in previous editions, the interactive side of “Potted Potter” adds to the fun, with both actors and audiences not knowing where the show goes.

There were plenty of moments when Percy and Maudsley were caught off-guard – such as melted cake ending up on the floor and a seemingly innocent audience member doing a body slam on one of the actors during a quidditch match – resulting in non-stop laughter.
