MANILA – Actress Ellen Adarna showed off her noticeable weight gain as she appeared on the cover of a women’s lifestyle magazine, saying that this is her “normal figure.”

Adarna graces the cover of the latest issue of Cosmopolitan Philippines, where she revealed that she is not as naturally skinny as most people think.

“What you see today is my normal figure,” said the actress, who has also learned to embrace her natural curves. “Ganito talaga ako. Mahalin mo ako for who I am.”

Adarna said, however, that she still sometimes makes an effort to “prepare like crazy” whenever she has a photo shoot or a fashion show where she has to wear lingerie or a bikini.

Recalling an event for a local clothing brand she joined in 2014, she said: “Sobrang payat ko, ‘yun ‘yung pinaka-fit ko eh. Naabot ko ‘yun. Grabe talaga, abs and cuts. But it’s so hard to maintain.”

Meanwhile, Adarna went on to address misconceptions about her, specifically that she is “promiscuous.”

“People think that I just give in to random guys, but it’s something I only do with someone I have feelings for,” she explained. “When I date someone, sinasabi ko, if I’m drunk, we will not have sex. Only when we’re sober.”

“If you respect me and you want to date me, eto ‘yung rules. If you’re with me while I’m wasted, trial ‘yun sa principles and judgment mo. And I don’t wanna have sex on the first date,” she added.
