MANILA - Only two schools from the Philippines were included in this year's list of top universities in the Asia-Pacific region by data provider Times Higher Education (THE).
The list, which was released online on Wednesday, showed the University of the Philippines (UP) rising to the 101-110 bracket from 151-160 in 2018.
De La Salle University made the cut this year at the 201-250 bracket.
At the No. 1 spot is China's Tsinghua University, followed by National University of Singapore, University of Melbourne in Australia, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and University of Hong Kong.
THE said it used the same performance indicators as its world university rankings, but "weightings have been adjusted to reflect the younger profile of some of the universities in the region."
