Her collection, titled "Maria Justicia," is part of a personal activism seeking justice for victims of the war on illegal drugs.

David says this is her artistic way of saying that violence and killings should not be normalized in society.

"I believe in the saying, 'Maximize all forms of struggle'. Whether it's through art or street protest, we must show that we will never be silenced", she says.

Asked about her inspiration for her designs, David said the "Protesta de Mayo" held in UP piqued her interest.

"Protesta de Mayo" is UP's take on Flores De Mayo where students transform traditional gowns as protest art on current issues.

"I think I achieved the goal of disrupting the audience because of the revelations in the collection. I just really hope the message of the designs was clearly delivered." David says.

"Maria Justicia" is part of the "Hulma" fashion show of the graduating batch of Clothing Technology students at UP College of Home Economics. It was held at Metrotent Convention in Pasig City.
