BACOLOD CITY -- In celebration of the annual Lechon Festival and Charter Day anniversary, roasted pigs (lechon) were dressed in bright and colorful costumes.

Residents of Barangay Cabug dressed up 30 roasted pigs Sunday morning to showcase the people's creativity and ingenuity.

Among the standouts was a lechon in a police uniform emulating Philippine National Police Chief, Director General Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa.

Another lechon was dressed up as an astronaut while another one was dressed as a pilot complete with an airplane prop.

A staple during Filipino festivities, one lechon maintained the festive mood dressed in an Ati-Atihan Festival costume.

Meanwhile, one resident opted to dress a lechon in a mermaid costume while another lechon looked like a basketball player.

Punong barangay Jojo Malayang said this event has made their barangay popular through the years while at the same time promoting the livelihood of its residents in hog raising and lechon business.
