CALIFORNIA - Throughout the world, hundreds of former and a few current Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) members spent an evening gathering in undisclosed places, all of them taking a stand together over the church's issues.

For many of the former INC members, most of whom were expelled over speaking out on corruption allegations, these gatherings have become their form of service.

From his exile in Canada, INC whistleblower Lowell Menorca moderated the meeting. From coast to coast and across oceans, former INC members take turns on a teleconference sharing how they feel and how they've coped with their expulsions.

The night was called loyalty day where current INC members stand up for what they say is the truth and loyalty to God rather than the church administration.

The letters that family representatives are signing will be given to church officials.

"We are here to stand up and speak out for the truth which is in accordance with the will of our Lord God," said Menorca.

As the defenders continue to organize themselves, it's business as usual for the church and its administration. Executive Minister Eduardo Manalo continues to dedicate chapels around the world.

In the meantime, the Court of Appeals junked Menorca's Amparo plea calling for protection because it was deemed moot and academic.
