A closer look at BoybandPH's 5 members

MANILA -- Before they became members of the country's newest boy band, the five members of BoybandPH battled it out against 35 other contestants of "Pinoy Boyband Superstar."

Let's look back at the performances that decided the fate of Niel Murillo, Russel Reyes, Tristan Ramirez, Ford Valencia and Joao Constancia.

Niel Murillo

Seventeen-year-old Niel Murillo first caught the attention of the female fans with his unique charm and talent, earning 96 percent of their votes. He then wowed the judges with his performance of "Mahal na Mahal."

"I'm just happy na napakagaling mong kumanta. Doon ka sa Boyband Superstar, doon kita nakikita," Aga Muhlach told Niel, who joined the competition to help his visually impaired brother.

For his grand final performance, Niel performed Jason Mraz' "I Won't Give Up," earning praises from the judges for his improved confidence.

By the end of Saturday's episode, Niel was announced as the first member of BoybandPH after receiving the highest combined scores culled from the judges' ratings and the number of text votes.
