MANILA — The 'Ru-sical' maxi challenge of "Drag Race Philippines" season 3 was filled with authenticity, as two queens shone while sharing their personal stories.

During the episode, the 8 remaining queens were given roles for a musical inspired by "Wicked," with a Filipino twist.

Zymba Ding and Myx Chanel were stand outs in the competition sharing their personal stories that touched lives of many people.

Facing challenges in the competition, Myx breathed a sigh of relief with the positive comments that the judges gave to them for portraying the role of Glenda.

"We can see na you are disciplined as a mayroon ding background sa theater, we've been telling you, you know, you should have fun. Let go of yourself. This time, control us. The control benefited you, so control us. Discipline pays off and hard work pays off but you also had fun with the role, so, very good," host Paolo Ballesteros said.

After the critiques, Myx took the opportunity to share that they tested positive for Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) in 2021 and immediately became undetectable after six months through medication.

"When I was first diagnosed, I had been working with a lot of HIV awareness campaigns and organizations at that time, hindi ako natakot kasi alam kong may medicine na for it. I know that it's not the death sentence that it was many decades ago," Myx said.

With their story, Myx hopes that many people would be inspired and be brave as well, stressing that people should stop the stigma against the virus.

"One of the reasons why I went to this competition is because I want to show to the world how strong and beautiful people living with HIV can be," Myx said.

"I just want to inspire people like me na you can also get through it. You can also become a strong, beautiful, resilient person and that does not change one bit about who you are," they added.

HIV is no longer a death sentence worldwide due to life-saving antiretroviral drugs (ARVs) that can help people living with the infection lead normal lives.

Meanwhile, Zymba Ding dominated the episode, making her the winner of the maxi challenge.

"I emotionally connected kay Elvie. She is trying to, alam mo 'yun, makipasok sa majority but alam mo 'yun, she looks different is very connected sa akin kasi I'm here tas gustong-gusto ko na 'yung looks ko," Ballesteros said.

"You chose correctly, ramdam na ramdam ko 'yung authenticity. With your kumot couture, I love it, I love the silhouette, I love the Ru-veal, very elegant, and 'yung mga flowers na pinagtagpi-tagpi, I love it. I love the detail," the host added.

Popstar Bench and John Fedellaga landed in the bottom and had a lip sync battle to "Dadalhin" by Regine Velasquez with the latter ending her journey in 8th place.
