MANILA — Sparkle artist Sandro Muhlach has filed a complaint against two independent contractors of GMA Network, Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz, the media company said Thursday.

In a statement, GMA Network said that it has already initiated an investigation to address the said matter.

“GMA Network has just received a formal complaint from Sparkle artist Sandro Muhlach against two GMA independent contractors, Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz," the network said.

"Recognizing the seriousness of the alleged incident, GMA Network had already initiated its own investigation even before receiving the formal complaint,” they added.

The network assured the public that they will conduct the investigation with “highest standards of fairness and impartiality.”

“Respecting Sandro's request for confidentiality, the investigating body will withhold all details of the formal investigation until its conclusion," GMA Network said.

"The Network assures the public and all stakeholders of its commitment to conducting this investigation with the highest standards of fairness and impartiality."

Reports circulating online claimed that Sandro, the son of actor-businessman Niño Muhlach, was allegedly sexually harassed by two men during the GMA Gala 2024, held at the Marriott Hotel in Pasay City last July.

Niño had sparked controversy on social media with a cryptic Facebook post saying: "Inumpisahan nyo! Tatapusin ko" (You started it! I will finish it).

ABS-CBN News has tried to reach out to Niño for a comment but has yet to respond, as of writing.

Meanwhile, Niño's wife, Dianne Abby Tupaz has aired her sentiments saying in translation: "We raised and cared for our children with love and nurturing, only to have them humiliated by individuals possessed by demons to commit such vile acts. We will not allow ourselves to not achieve justice!"

"Our son will carry the abuse you did to him for the rest of his life! We don't care who you are or who is protecting you! We will make sure that you will pay for what you have done! We will not allow you to victimize anyone else! We will continue the fight! Those responsible will be held accountable! You make our skin crawl!" she added in Filipino.
