Remy Monteverde, husband of Regal Films' Mother Lily, passes away at 86

MANILA -- The Philippine entertainment industry mourns the loss of Leonardo “Remy” G. Monteverde, husband of film producer, Regal Films’ matriarch Mother Lily Monteverde. 

Leonardo, a beloved figure known for his unwavering support of the local film industry, passed away on July 29, 2024, at the age of 86 due to pneumonia.

Monteverde, a former basketball player for San Beda high school and Mapua College, was born on December 25, 1937. 

“Remy” is remembered as a loving husband to Mother Lily, a pillar of strength and guidance to his children, and a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather. 

His legacy lives on through his children, including Roselle, who continues the family tradition at Regal Films; Dondon, who has made his mark in the industry with Reality MM Studios; and Coach Goldwin, who leads the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons; Winston; and Sherida.

The wake for Leonardo Monteverde will be held at the 38 Valencia Events Place in Quezon City from July 31, Wednesday, to August 2, Friday. Visitation hours are from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., with daily masses at 7 p.m.

The Monteverde family extends their gratitude for the outpouring of support and prayers during this difficult time. They invite friends, family, and colleagues to join them in celebrating the life of a man whose quiet strength and dedication have left an indelible mark on their lives and the broader community.
