MANILA — Jhoanna of the nation's girl group BINI will skip the KCON Los Angeles 2024.

"Due to unanticipated health issues, Jhoanna will not be able to participate in KCON LA 2024," her group announced on social media.

The advisory said the pop group leader was being monitored closely and recovering well.

On Friday morning, BINI's Maloi, Colet, Gwen, Stacey, and Aiah landed in California for the event. The second batch of the nation's girl group, consisting of BINI's Jhoanna, Mikha, and Sheena, was still traveling at the time.

BINI is among the performers for the pre-show of the "M Countdown" stage on Saturday (US time). They are also part of the convention in a special "Meet the Rising Stars: BINI" panel.

This marks a historic milestone both for BINI and other P-pop and OPM artists, as KCON is one of the biggest K-pop festivals worldwide.

KCON LA 2024 will run until July 28 at the Crypto.com Arena and LA Convention Center.
