MANILA -- A grateful Charlie Dizon said her best actress win at the 47th Gawad Urian on Saturday for her captivating performance in the film "Third World Romance" felt like a precious gift.

“Kung 'di niyo lang alam sobrang gandang regalo ito sa akin ngayon. Forever grateful… Before gusto ko lang, I just wanted to be part of the industry. Hindi ko din inakala mamahalin ko pag-arte ng sobra sobra. Maraming salamat sa lahat ng sumuporta,” she said in during the awarding ceremony at De La Salle University in Manila.

“My family in the US is also here now, so this is also a present for them,” she added.

Dizon, however, did not confirm if she was hinting at her rumored wedding with partner Carlo Aquino on Sunday.

“Best gift! ‘Yun lang masasabi ko,” Dizon said in an interview. “Madami pa dapat abangan. Hindi ako mawawala.”

According to Dizon, she shares the triumph with the rest of the “Third World Romance” team, including Aquino who she considers her lucky charm.

“The work was easier because I was starring alongside him. As in. He would choose that I would be more comfortable over him. I'm so grateful it was with him,” she said.

According to Dizon, she hopes to continue telling meaningful stories moving forward.

“I pray to be able to do projects that have a good message. I want to go back to them when I am older and be reminded that the story had messages that could influence other people,” she explained.

“Third World Romance" director Dwein Ruedas Baltazar bagged the best director award The film also scored the awards for music and production design.
