Filipino singer Nonoy Zuniga's son, Ziggy, is carving out his musical legacy.

Zuniga performs inside the Barbershop of the Cosmopolitan Hotel and Casino on the iconic Las Vegas strip.

"It's an actual barbershop. During the day they cut hair and there's a janitor closet you walk in right through with a secret door to this whole venue all the service tables bars and stage," said Zuniga. "There's a lot of reputable celebrities that came in there.”

In addition to his act, Zuniga is also an audio engineer.

The young Fil-Am musician said being Nonoy's son is not easy.

But he added that he is grateful for inheriting his father's talent in music. Zuniga also spoke recently of the difficulties that he had to overcome.

“[There's] a lot of pressure but I present it as a challenge," he said. "Now that I'm in the Cosmopolitan,  I have a residency now. Dad is passing the torch to me and I'm just continuing it."

Zuniga added of his father: "He passed on not just that but also the musical abilities. I'm on my sound now. Dad is the ballad romantic [and] I still have that style. He gave me the tools to create my sound.”

Zuniga said performing in the entertainment capital of the world is a dream come true, made possible by using his talents and skills to do what he loves.

His parting words to those who aspire to be in his shoes – foster connections, and stay grounded.

"It's more than just never giving up," Zuniga said. "Choose your influences, choose your friends carefully. You will meet one and that person will know one person. Also, just stay true to yourself. Keep that Filipino humility."
