MANILA - OPM group BINI's performance during the 126th Independence Day festivities at the Quirino Grandstand on Wednesday night was cut short after fans climbed on scaffoldings and refused to back off the stage.

BINI, sans Aiah Arceta, performed "Lagi." And while gearing up for another song, the group had to urge their fans to back off the stage.

"Bago ang lahat, bago kami magpatuloy kailangan naming kayo kumalma guys dahil mahihirapan ang mga security natin," BINI member Jhoanna called to the crowd.

Afterwards, the rest of the BINI members attempted to ask the crowd to move backwards as they were heading closer to the stage, while expressing concern of their safety. Maloi also pointed out that a fan was hanging by a scaffolding.

It did not take long until Mickey Perz, their dance coach, took to the stage to urge the crowd to behave.

"Blooms alam naming kanina pa kayo andito at matagal kayong anghintay sa BINI. Ang BINI din ay naghihintay sa inyo. Kung hindi tayo magiging kalma, hindi na po kami makaka-perform kasi importante sa BINI na safe magperform,"he said.

(Blooms, we know that you've been here for a long time waiting for BINI, and BINI are also waiting for you. If we aren't calm, we won't be able to perform because safety is important.)

On X (formerly Twitter), BINI's official account thanked the fans for their support, while explaining that safety should come first.

"Thank you sa lahat ng sumuporta ngayong gabi! Ngunit safety first po tayo (we should exercise safety first) and we hope for your understanding. More chances to see each other real soon! We hope everyone gets home safely tonight. Maraming salamat! Happy Independence Day."
