MANILA (UPDATED) — Actor Elijah Canlas has given an update regarding the status of his relationship with his ex-girlfriend Miles Ocampo. 

This after Canlas was present during the 27th birthday of Ocampo.

In a chance interview with reporters on Tuesday, the actor said they are taking things slow. 

"We're doing good. We're very happy. Of course, of course. We're taking it easy," he said.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News' Ganiel Krishnan, Canlas shared that the birthday was planned with their friends. 

"All our friends were there. Kami ang nag-organize sa salubong party niya. In-enjoy lang namin. Well, right now we’re just enjoying what we have. We’re taking things easy lang para walang pressure," he said.

Canlas said that he maintained a "strong" friendship with Ocampo. 

"We’re just taking our time. Doon lang kami sa focusing on our work. S'yempre, marami rin siyang work, marami rin akong work. Of course, the love and care for each other will always be there," he said.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News last March, Canlas hinted that rumors of him and Ocampo reconciling could actually be true, while Ocampo earlier said that she and Canlas, whom she described as her "true love," are on speaking terms again, but just as friends.

Canlas confirmed that he and Ocampo have broken up in November 2023, after over two years of being in a relationship.

They first confirmed their relationship in May 2022.
