MANILA — Comic strip creator and writer-director Carlo J. Caparas has died, his family confirmed Saturday night.

Caparas' daughter, Peach Caparas, announced his passing in a Facebook post, where she wrote an ode to her father.

"Salamat Direk Carlo J. sa mga dibuho at istorya. Mga istoryang nabuo sa bawat tipa ng iyong makinilya," part of the poem reads.
