'TNT Kids' grand champion Kim Hewitt dedicates success to mom

MANILA - Kim Hewitt, a Filipino-British boy from Dumaguete, was declared winner of the “Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids" singing competition during its finale on “It’s Showtime” on Saturday. 



The young singer from Dumaguete was tearful as he was declared the grand champion of the singing competition.

In an Interview with ABS-CBN News, Hewitt shared his preparation for the competition where he performed five songs.  

“I kept on practicing. Repeat-repeat, day after day,” Hewitt said.

He dedicated his success to his mom who helped him with his journey. 

“I’m thankful to god and my mom for helping me along the way, she helped me a lot and coached me,” he said.

Speaking with ABS-CBN News after the competition, Amie Neves shared her message for her son Kim. 

"I'm so happy I know na you work harder para makamit mo talaga 'yung inaasam mo sa buhay anak. But please, don't forget na ask mo ang guidance ni god basta pray ka lang ng pray lahat ng gusto mo sa buhay mo and what's inside your heart i-ask mo lang kay God, ibibigay lahat ni god.Proud na proud na proud ako, ako ang pinaka happy for sure if your dad is alive for sure siya ang pinaka happy na tao sa buong mundo," she said. 

Aside from the P500,000 cash prize, the "Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids" grand champion also received a management contract with ABS-CBN Music.
