MANILA -- “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim” leading man Paulo Avelino revealed Friday that he is recovering from an injury he sustained while working out.

“I dislocated my right shoulder because of weightlifting,” Avelino said in an interview during the grand opening of Brilliant Skin Medical Group’s inaugural clinic, where he signed as one of the endorsers.

“I did not wear a sling, masisira kasi pagka-action star ko,” he joked.

According to Avelino, he tries to align his current appearance with the characters he portrays. 

“My aura or look comes with the role I am doing. I try to stay true to the characters I am doing. If you noticed in 'Linlang,' I did not put make-up at all. Medyo madungis talaga itsura ko. Here in 'Secretary Kim,' I am dapper,” he said.

Avelino stars alongside Kim Chiu in the Filipino adaptation of “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim,” which will begin streaming on Viu on March 18.
