"This year, I was with my family at first, but then I decided to go on a solo trip, by myself, which I've kind of turned into a yearly tradition of mine," she said in an interview with ABS-CBN News for the digital series "On Cue."

"Last year I did this like, wellness retreat in the States, This year I went to Japan for three days. And so, it's really just me."

Soberano, whose Hollywood debut "Lisa Frankenstein" opens in Philippine cinemas this week, added that these solo trips allow her to process how to approach her future.

"I wanna be very intentional about starting the new year, and also stepping into like, my late 20s. I kind of wanted to just take a step back and recalibrate and really think about what my priorities are in my career and my personal life and everything," she said.

"In order for me to do that, I kind of need to take myself out of the environment that I'm in, go somewhere new to get a new perspective, and just recalibrate," she added.

Asked about her birthday wish, Soberano said: "I think really, what I just wish for is that, this year ...of course, more blessings would come in."

"But aside from that, just being able to truly enjoy every moment that I have. 'Cause I think the tendency that I have when it comes to like, working and building a career, is that I get so caught up in the work that I'm doing, and I get so ...I just tend to forget my personal life and how I'm feeling and everything," she said.

"So this time around, despite everything that's going on, all the work that I'm doing, I wanna be able to just soak in the process, enjoy it, and not have any regrets when I look back at the work, and just think that like, 'Oh, that was such a fun time, that was such an amazing project. I really enjoyed the process of creating it until it came out.' So yeah, just enjoying everything for what it is."
