MANILA —The Pinoy pop-rock band Aegis is poised to bring nostalgia with their upcoming concert, featuring a selection of their iconic Original Pilipino Music (OPM) songs.

“Halik Sa Ulan: A Valentine’s Special” will take place on February 1 and 2, 2025, at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City. The concert signifies a celebrated return for the iconic group.

During a recent photoshoot, Aegis members expressed their excitement for the upcoming shows. Vocalist Juliet Sunot shared her enthusiasm, saying, “Siyempre po masaya po kami lahat kasi 7 years na po ang dumaan. So ngayon po, eto grabe. [Ang] saya. Ang saya namin.”

Keyboardist Stella Pabico echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the special opportunity presented by the Valentine’s concert. “Exciting kasi talaga ilang taon na ang dumaan bago kami ulit nabigyan ng chance na ito, ng break na ito,” she said.

The choice of a Valentine’s theme resonates with Aegis’ music deeply with themes of love and heartbreak. “Tamang tama bagay naman sa Valentines yung mga kanta namin,” Juliet explained, referencing their iconic hits that capture the essence of romance and longing, such as “Basang-Basa Sa Ulan” and “Halik.” “[Para sa] mga magkasintahan ayun kaya bagay na bagay talaga,” she added.

Fans can expect a nostalgic mix of Aegis classics alongside fresh interpretations. “Maraming marami pa [ang] maririnig nila. Kung ano yung narinig nila, ganun pa ‘din,” Juliet promised, hinting at the inclusion of beloved tracks and some surprise cover songs.

“Kung ano yung kanta na narinig nila yung “Halik, “ [“Basang Basa sa Ulan”], "Sinta," ngayon siyempre parang may mga cover songs [din] po kami... Suprise na lang po,” she added.
