Screenshot from Star Cinema's Facebook pageMANILA — The trailer of "Hello, Love, Again" released on Tuesday builds more hype and curiosity among fans, as it seemingly showed that the two protagonists' encountered difficulties which hindered them in ending up together.

Fans were surprised even more when another character, played by Korean-American actor Kevin Kreider, appeared on the airport scene that was first showed in the teaser.

Maslog is being investigated for the 1998 textbook scam but was invited to the hearing of the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality to shed light on her possible connection with dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo. According to Maslog, she assisted in asking Guo to surrender. She was supposedly approached by the Philippine National Police intelligence group since she is close to Sual, Pangasinan Mayor Liseldo Calugay who is being romantically linked to Guo. But according to General Romeo Macapaz, Officer-in-Charge of the PNP intelligence group, Maslog approached them to say she has access to the counsel of Guo—Attorney Stephen David. Macapaz trusted Maslog since he has known him since 2022. David said Maslog and the PNP came to him to negotiate the surrender. “I trusted her because she was with top PNP brass,” David stated. Maslog said she went to Indonesia two times—the first one was when Shiela Guo and Cassandra Ong were arrested, and the second was when Guo was arrested. Maslog supposedly received a text from Indonesian authorities informing her of the arrest of Guo, which completely shocked Senators. “What?! An Indonesian officer texted you?” Committee Chair Senator Risa Hontiveros exclaimed. “Mas sinungaling ka pa dito kay Alice Guo!” Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada remarked. “Who are you to mediate? Who gave you the authority? You being a private citizen.” “Except sa pag-contact kay Alice, wala na siyang ibang authority,” Macapaz said. The PNP official said they did introduce Maslog to their Indonesian counterparts but they did not bring her with them when Guo was arrested. She allegedly went to Indonesia on her own. Senator Sherwin Gatchalian pointed out that the PNP could have just directly reached out to David. “Kausap niyo pugante,” Gatchalian said. “Kriminal ito. Bakit ‘di niyo na-detect as intelligence group?” Macapaz answered, “We only came to know when shinare ng NBI ang information.” “Big time naisahan kayo,” Senator Joel Villanueva said. Maslog even visited Guo twice in the PNP Custodial Center with David. Macapaz said he accompanied them the first time since Guo was supposed to reveal vital information, which did not happen. An outraged Senator Ronald Dela Rosa, however, insisted Maslog had another agenda. “I have an information, you cannot deny to me. I have a very, very accurate information na siya ay inuutusan ng somebody from Malacañang para papirmahin si Alice Guo ng affidavit implicating President Duterte, Senator Bong Go, Senator Bato and General Caramat as the people behind the operation of POGO,” Dela Rosa claimed. Macapaz replied, “As to the connection of Ma’am Jessica to the Malacañang, Sir, wala po akong alam diyan.” “Wala akong papapirmahan kay Alice,” Maslog insisted. According to Macapaz, they got information from Guo which needs further validation. He asked for an executive session and wanted to present an audio recording of a conversation with Guo but was not granted one. Maslog was cited in contempt but will remain in the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation. “PATHOLOGICAL LIAR” According to NBI Assistant Director Atty. Lito Magno, the fingerprints of Maslog and Francisco matched. Based on Maslog’s birth certificate, she was born in 1985 which would make her 14 years old when the textbook scam was already being investigated, according to Estrada. She refused to comment and invoked her right against self-incrimination as a case is already pending with the Sandiganbayan. “Ikaw na siguro reyna ng kasinungalingan,” Estrada told Maslog. “You are a pathological liar.” Gatchalian said Guo’s birth certificate is most probably fake. Authorities allege that Maslog was able to avoid being charged in the textbook scam after she faked her death in 2019. But what really happened?

Both the teaser and trailer gave few glimpses on how Ethan and Joy are working hard to build a life together, but it is evident that their efforts were affected by a still unknown mistake.

"Walang araw na hindi ko inisip na sana marating na natin ang future na pinangarap nating dalawa. A future with no goodbyes," Ethan mentioned on the opening part of the trailer.

It can also be recalled that the two exchanged hopeful lines in the teaser as well, with Ethan saying "Excited na akong makarating sa future na kasama ka."

"And we're now making that future happen," Joy replied.

However, things clearly did not turn out right, as the two repeatedly clash on trailer about whether they should have a second chance or not. Ethan wants a new opportunity, while Joy is rejecting it with evident rage.

The cast of the follow up film are excited over the launched trailer. Bernardo and Richards emphasized how much the movie mean to them, saying that the viewers will surely learn from the film in terms of love and sacrifices.

"We're very happy, and sana sila [audience] rin. Lahat ng nakakita ng first trailer ng "Hello Love Again"," Bernardo told the ABS-CBN News.

"Medyo naging emotional kami lahat on stage while seeing it. Nakita naman namin before, pero no'ng nakita namin siya on the big screen with the teams, with the soundtrack —  nag-flashback lang lahat from "Hello, Love, Goodbye" while doing "Hello Love Again"," Richards added.

The much-awaited film will be in the cinemas beginning November 13.
